This model is a series of firsts for me: First scratch-build; first time using an airbrush; and first completed model. :dummy:

I originally planned this as a sci-fi tank, taking influence from early science fiction pulp illustrations with a modern, realistic approach to the final look. When it was finished, I planned to do a rear shot with some painted figures and create a Forbidden Planet kind of scene. However, once I'd finished painting the base colors, I realized this would be better as an abandoned sentry turret from a long-forgotten war, perhaps centuries in the past. So, this little thing got very heavy layers of rust and dirt. Although I'm using black-and-white film, there's plenty of texture to work with.
